Summer Camp at Rawhide Ranch

Rawhide Ranch has attracted ranch-loving campers from all across the US and abroad for almost 50 years and we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to a camper in our own “backyard”. Campers learn to ride in our nationally accredited western riding program. The daily schedule features western riding & vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) instruction, animal care time, animal & horse science classes along with a variety of electives to choose from such as roping, archery, intro to rodeo, harnessing, climbing tower, drama, crafts, weekly newspaper, dance, sports/games as well as swimming/water slide. Accredited by the American Camp Association & Certified Horsemanship Association. Member of the Western Association of Independent Camps. Co-ed, overnight program for ages 7-15. "Taos Monarch" by Roy Hampton 1923-1997

Original 14X18 framed oil painting. George (Leroy) Hampton was a realist painter of Western portraits, landscapes, and horses in action. His love for Western movies fueled his love for Western art. He met Norman Rockwell who influenced his art with critiques and commentary. He worked for the animation deptartment for Disney Studios before becoming a full time artist in 1972. He has won several gold medals in art shows and has been featured in art and Western magazines & several galleries. Donated by Velma and Bob Bernhard on behalf of "The Elizabeth Hospice."
